Anita Jacobsen

Snow Angels Coordinator

Anita has been volunteering since the age of 10 when she started being a guide for the S.O.N. Ski Program for the Blind started by her parents in 1975 in Vancouver. That began a love of volunteering that has continued throughout her life. She is very passionate about the Snow Angels program and says she has the best volunteers and clients going!

Melisa Dyck

Link Coordinator

Born and Raised in Kamloops Melisa has a huge heart for the Community,volunteering and working with youth. She has 4 boys who have always kept her on her toes and helped her find her passion in volunteering in non profit programs.Running a nonprofit myself. I understand the struggles that some nonprofits face and the challenges that volunteers may encounter with their busy lifestyles. She works with youth a lot.She loves teaching the youth about giving back to the community in whatever way is possible

Nicole Stanchfield

Focus Coordinator

Nicole brings with her a wealth of knowledge and lived experience to celebrate those experiencing mental health and substance use. As a life-long volunteer she understands the benefits of community connection for a wholistic sense of well-being. Nicole has a passion for inclusivity and helping folks feel seen and valued.

Joanne Bonderud

Joanne is the newest addition to the Volunteer Kamloops Team. With her extensive background in accounting, Joanne is an asset to our team’s growth. She is passionate about volunteering and helping non-profits and our organisation grow to their best potential. She is a genius with numbers. Joanne has lived in Kamloops 45 years, and she is a long-time volunteer with Kamloops RCMP Victim Services, BCSPCA Kamloops, and YMCA BC. She loves meeting new people and exploring all the beauty that Kamloops has to offer.

Terri Hadwin

President

Terri Hadwin is a community leader with a wealth of knowledge of the Kamloops and Thompson Nicola Region area. Born in Kelowna, but moved to Kamloops in her early teens, graduating from Brocklehurst Secondary before moving to the west coast, and returning back to BC Interior years later. Her earlier career path included Early Childhood Education, where she was a pre-school teacher for a brief period of time, then found her passion working in tourism, the arts and non-profit work. She pursued her graduate degree in Tourism Management through Royal Roads University.

She works for the TNRD as the Film Commissioner, she volunteers as Board Member for Chimera Theatre and President for Volunteer Kamloops. Previous volunteer and Board engagement include, BC Alliance for Arts and Culture, Big Sisters, Scouts, Historic Hat Creek Ranch, Thompson Nicola Film Commission, BC Geocaching Association and New Pathways to Gold. Giving back to community is a driving force for her volunteer work.

Leslie Whitmore

Treasurer

Leslie Whitmore, recently joined our team in November as a valuable addition to our administration. Leslie has been a resident of Kamloops for ? years and has a deep passion for our community and its offerings. With a background working with the YMCA, Leslie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will greatly contribute to the growth and direction of our program. Her dedication to helping non-profits aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are thrilled to have her on board.

Christopher Graves

Chris grow up in the Vancouver and moved to Kamloops in 2022 with his family. He loves the outdoor and participating in many different sports.Anything from Golfing,rugby and snowboarding in the winter.He has brought a fantastic new outlook for what community is all about. Using my leadership and communication skills from years of retail management; He looks forward to contributing my time to make Kamloops an even better place for my family to live and grow.

Suresh Babu Kundoor

Suresh Babu Kundoor is volunteering as one of our board members at Volunteer Kamloops, bringing over 30 years of invaluable experience in Accounts, Finance, and Internal Audit to the table. Recently relocated to Canada and has chosen the vibrant community of Kamloops as their new home. Passionate about community service, strongly believes in giving back and is eager to leverage their expertise to contribute to the betterment of the local area.
