Past Timeraisers

Anne-Marie stopped into Volkswagen of Kamloops one of the Timeraiser sponsors, where her art is on display until October. This piece is called ‘ Rusty’ by Jamie Allen. Anne-Marie volunteered in December at the Kamloops Wildlife Park for Wildlights. Fantastic work, Anne-Marie!

Gaudenza Ramunno has bid 100 hours of volunteer time to complete this year so we can present her with this stunning piece at the Kamloops Timeraiser event. Her art will be on display at New Gold Inc., one of our generous sponsors, until October when we get to present it to her. Go Gaudenza Go!

Valda Roberts is looking forward to receiving this piece called ‘Cow of Leisure’ by Patricia House. Valda has been putting in hours for Volunteer Kamloops, BC Interior Community Foundation, and Canucks Autism Network. Valda’s art is currently being enjoyed at New Gold Inc., as they are one of our amazing sponsors, until we present it to Valda at the Kamloops Timeraiser event. Keep up the great work, Valda!

Terri Mochikas has been putting in hours with the beautiful singing pillow and drum art that is on display at our sponsor Raymond James on Lorne Street. Terri will be getting presented this art at the next Timeraiser event in October. Save the date to come see her collect her art. Keep up the great work, Terri!

Tyler Lowey is one of our amazing volunteers with Kamloops Timeraiser. He has been volunteering with many agencies like BC Wildlife Park, Volunteer Kamloops (Snow Angels), Canucks Autism Network, Special Olympics BC and many more! Tyler completed all of his hours and will be presented with this fabulous piece he bid on with his time. The art is currently on display at one of our generous sponsors Colman & Associates Mortgage Consultants until our next Timeraiser event in October when we will present it to Tyler. Thanks for your ‘TIME’, Tyler!

Jennifer has been putting in hours volunteering for several different agencies so she can receive the art piece titled “Skeleton Leaf”. Some of the organizations she has volunteered at are BC Interior Community Foundation, Kamloops Immigrant Services, and Kamloops Film Society. Awesome work, Jennifer!

      Success Story

In 2022 I entered one of my paintings into the Kamloops Arts Council “Art Exposed” exhibition. I learned that the painting had been purchased by Volunteer Kamloops for their TimeRaiser event and I was very pleased. Both my husband Ivon and I attended the event and we a) had a great time, b) learned a lot about volunteer opportunities in Kamloops; and c) bought a painting with volunteer time!

It was difficult to choose among the volunteer options in payment of the painting we “purchased”, however, as animal lovers and “pet parents’ we were strongly attracted to the work of Four Paws pet food bank and I offered them the 55 hours of my time I had bid for my new work of art.

I started my volunteer hours early in 2023 and I have loved every minute of it. Weekly, my pug Gabe and I pick up donated pet food from the 2 Total Pet locations in Kamloops and deliver it to Four Paws. In addition, my husband and I have both volunteered at the food bank itself. This gave us the opportunity to directly meet the clients that are served so well by the pet food bank. I completed my donation hours around July of 2023 but have no intention of terminating my volunteering with Four Paws. It has been very rewarding.

I highly recommend the TimeRaiser event, the opportunity to purchase original artwork for time instead of money, and a chance to give back to our community by volunteering with a local charity that contributes to Kamloops.
